Secret Sushi Garden at Ocean House

A seaside escape of sushi, rosé, and coastal style with Anna Barnes of Bliss & Bellinis

There are lunches, and then there are lunches you’ll be daydreaming about long after the last roll is gone. A recent afternoon at Ocean House’s Secret Garden‘s Sushi Bar with our friend Anna Barnes of Bliss & Bellinis reminded us why this oceanside hideaway is one of the most unforgettable dining spots of the season.

Sushi With a View

Perched high above the Atlantic, the Secret Garden feels like an insider’s escape — open-air, breezy, and impossibly chic. The menu is a curated mix of sushi and Japanese-inspired bites, crafted by Chef Ariah Dawson with equal parts precision and creativity.

We lingered over the Ocean House California roll (peekytoe crab, fresh and delicate), the crispy spicy tuna roll (a forever favorite), plus light bites like seaweed salad and moromi miso soup — all simple, vibrant, and perfect for sharing.

Sip, Savor, Repeat

Of course, no garden escape is complete without a cocktail (or two). Here, the drinks are as playful as the setting — think yuzu spritzes, wasabi-infused vodka, and signature Ocean House classics that are just as photo-worthy as they are refreshing. For us, sparkling rosé was the move (always).

An Afternoon Well Spent

The Secret Garden has a way of slowing time. Conversations stretch longer, and the view seems to change with every sip. Whether you’re sharing sushi in the afternoon or lingering over a cocktail as the day winds down, it feels less like a meal and more like a coastal ritual.

Why We’ll Be Back

The Secret Garden is just one more reason Ocean House remains a standout coastal destination — good food, unbeatable views, and that easy coastal feel you can’t beat.
