There is nothing as festive as Stroll weekend on the island of Nantucket. With the island aglow with trees, lights and all the trimmings, it serves as the perfect holiday backdrop for all kinds of seasonal celebrations.
So it would take a wedding to take the festivities up a notch, and that’s what Alexa and Tom did when they chose to say I Do at the Nantucket Whaling Museum on the Saturday of Stroll.
The bride, in her stunning beaded and spaghetti strap Badgley Mischka, and the groom, dapper in a charcoal suit from J CREW, chose to do their pre ceremony reveal at the iconic Brant Point Light. The chill in the air was no match for the bright sunshine and the couple’s excitement as they saw each other for the first time just off the steps of the lighthouse. Captured perfectly by the team of Rebecca Love Photography, the photos are timeless, and if not for the wreath, you would think it was a beautiful summer day.
The couple and their bridal party then enjoyed the pre wedding parade festivities and photos on Main Street, even taking a spin on the classic fire truck that Santa rides through town. When it was finally time for the ceremony followed by a buffet reception, guests arrived at just past 5 at the museum stairs for the memorable evening to begin.
With wedding planner Trace Dweyer at the helm, revelers filled the great room featuring the unforgettable 46-foot sperm whale skeleton looming above and the adjacent Hadwen & Barney Oil and Candle Factory, the two-level, exposed brick space with original wooden ceiling beams. With Flowers by Chestnut and a simple and elegant cake from Cake of Nantucket, guests partied and danced to DJ Ryan Brown including a toast led by Santa himself.
A merry start for a lifelong of happiness
Fall might be the season for winding down, but this couple ended a memorable day ready for their new beginning.
