Since opening its doors in early summer 2023, MOLI has become a standout in Greenwich, CT’s fine dining scene. With its reimagined 1930s Shanghai nightclub theme set in a historic building, MOLI delivers an experience that is both visually stunning and gastronomically unforgettable.

The Setting: 1930s Shanghai Meets Greenwich Charm

MOLI is housed in a 1915 structure that once served as the Putnam Trust Bank. The building’s grandeur is on full display, with soaring tiled arches designed by Rafael Guastavino—famed for his work at Ellis Island and Grand Central Oyster Bar.

A show-stopping crystal chandelier commands attention, casting light over the two-story dining space and evoking the glamour of a Shanghai speakeasy. With 2,500 square feet of space, MOLI offers seating for 110 guests, including an upper level overlooking the main floor. For a quieter ambiance, request a table upstairs, where the energy of the live music and lively bar feels just slightly more subdued.

The Visionaries Behind MOLI

MOLI is the first Chinese fine dining venture from restaurateurs K Dong and Chef Steven Chen, who also operate Greenwich favorites like Kumo Sushi Lounge, Miku Sushi, and Hinoki. They’ve entrusted Executive Chef Tin Huynh to bring their vision to life. Chef Tin, a graduate of the French Culinary Institute, brings a wealth of experience from iconic Asian venues such as Tao and Hutong in New York, blending his Chinese heritage with global culinary techniques.
