Fall on Martha’s Vineyard was made for a lot of things, but weddings have to be at the top of the list. So on a beautiful September day in Edgartown, Shay and Andrew said their vows at a private home overlooking Katama Bay as their guests looked out onto a waterview, made more dazzling with the early golden colors of the season. Photographer Ann Coen was on hand to capture it all.
With her navy outfitted bridesmaids by her side, Shayna radiated like the warm fall freeze in an elegant sleeveless column dress with a slender sleeveless lace bodice and high neck design. After a ceremony sealed with a kiss in the late afternoon sun, the new couple was ready to make it a night to remember.
A grass covered wall of champagne glasses awaited the guests as they entered the tent that was set up on the grounds of the waterfront estate. Orchestrated by local event planners, Plan it Martha’s Vineyard, the cocktail and reception were just steps from where the vow ceremony took place.
A beautifully decorated tent by Big Sky Tent + Party Rentals was put up for a reception featuring Blue chinoiserie vase centerpieces filled with an all white assortment of roses, lilies and hydrangea from floral design Aubrey Maria Designs.
Guests dined on catering from Jaime Hamlin and wine and cocktails from Island Cocktail Company. When it was time to turn up the volume the Wilson Stevens band got the crowd moving. The MV Photo Bus was on hand to take candid snapshots of partygoers as the night went on.
But the sweetest moment of the night was when Backdoor Donuts were put out for the guests to nibble as they danced the night away under the stars.
Fall might be the season for winding down, but this couple ended a memorable day ready for their new beginning.
