While nothing beats the warm and sunny shoreline in the summertime, winter provides a great excuse to head inland and uphill for a day on the slopes. Our northern neighbors, Vermont and New Hampshire, often beckon the loudest when planning a weekend getaway. However, Connecticut is home to several mountain spots that are easy to enjoy for a day or a weekend and we’ve included two resorts that border Connecticut—Catamount in New York and Butternut in Massachusetts. So, let’s hop on a lift and take a peek (couldn’t resist!) at our top picks.
